The location of Hostal Abaaly couldn’t be more convenient. Just steps from Mercado de San Miguel and only a five-minute walk from Sol metro station, it's perfect for exploring the heart of Madrid. The room was basic but very clean, which I appreciated. The shared bathrooms were also spotless, and it seemed like staff made a real effort to keep everything tidy. I enjoyed the quiet atmosphere despite being in the city center, which was a pleasant surprise on a Saturday night. On the other hand, my room felt a bit cramped without windows, which made it hot at night. The key system for accessing the front door was tricky. I got locked out more than once, and the reception staff didn't speak much English, which could be frustrating at times.

The location is fantastic, just a couple blocks from a bustling market with inexpensive fine foods. The bathrooms are routinely cleaned and there are multiple facilities available for guests nearby.

However, the soundproofing is basically non-existent, making sleep near impossible with every noise echoing through the hall. The room size felt cramped, essentially just a bed and a fan, and finding the hostel can be a hassle due to its lack of clear signage. Additionally, the shared bathrooms often had a lingering odor, and pest issues like cockroaches were a persistent nuisance.

I had a wonderful stay! The room was great for the price, and I loved the location, just a block away from a lively market. Staff were super friendly, and shared bathrooms were always clean. I never had to wait in line. Perfect for exploring the city!

Right near that lively market and just a hop, skip from the Plaza Mayor! The rooms were cozy enough for what we needed, and y’all, the staff were as friendly as a neighbor bringing over a pie. Just wished our room had a window for some fresh air. it got a bit stuffy at night.
